Documents required for car rental in Pakistan
Bring these when you collect the car. The agency checks them at the counter — there is nothing to upload beforehand.

- Original CNIC or NICOP, valid and not expired
- Valid Pakistani driving licence held for at least one year
- Minimum age 21 — 25 for SUVs and premium cars
- A mobile number registered in your own name
- Proof of address: a utility bill or tenancy agreement
✈️ For visitors and expats
- Passport with a valid Pakistani visa
- International Driving Permit, or a home-country licence with a certified translation
- Minimum age 23, licence held for at least two years
- Return ticket or hotel booking covering the rental period
- Any deposit is set by the agency and paid to them directly — never through RentGari

Frequently asked questions
What exactly is included in the price?
The car, with its insurance, for your dates: every listing must carry valid comprehensive insurance for the whole booking. Anything else — extras, delivery, a driver — is its own line on the quote before you book. Fuel is not included.
Is fuel included?
No. Fuel is yours — note how full the tank is at handover and bring it back the same. Insurance is part of every listing.
Can I take the car to another city?
Yes. On a rental with a driver, the agency's own mileage allowance applies, and travel to Gilgit-Baltistan and interior Balochistan needs the agency's prior approval and a 4x4. For a trip out of the city, you can also book a Northern tour: the vehicle comes with its driver, priced per day, plus the driver's night allowance for each night away and a per-day surcharge on harder regions such as Hunza or Skardu. Coasters and vans run intercity by the day too.
What happens if the car breaks down?
Contact the agency first — their number is on your booking. They are responsible for the car and for getting you moving. If you cannot reach them, message RentGari support and we will chase them.
Is there a mileage limit?
Each car states its own daily kilometre allowance and the rate beyond it, on its page and again on your quote — allowances differ by car and by agency, so check the one you are booking rather than assuming a standard.
What if I have an accident?
Cars on RentGari carry comprehensive insurance. You are liable for the excess, and the amount is set by the agency and stated in the rental agreement you sign at handover — read it before you drive away. Report any incident to the agency straight away, and photograph the damage.
Can I rent with a foreign licence?
Yes, with an International Driving Permit, or your home-country licence together with a certified translation. Visitors must also show a passport with a valid Pakistani visa.
How do I cancel?
From your booking page, free, until two days before the start date — nothing is charged online, so there is nothing to refund. Closer to the start, contact the agency: they decide, and any fee is settled with them.
