We're rebuilding rent-a-car in Pakistan

If you have rented a car in Pakistan, you know the routine. You find a number on OLX or through a cousin. You negotiate on WhatsApp. You leave a photocopy of your CNIC with someone you have never met, hand over cash in advance, and hope the car that arrives is the car in the photo.

Then come the extras nobody mentioned. A per-kilometre charge at return. A delivery fee. AC counted as a premium. And a car with a service history nobody can produce.

None of this is anyone's fault exactly — it is just what happens when an entire category runs on chat threads and cash. It is also completely fixable.

What we actually built

RentGari is a marketplace. Independent agencies list their real cars; you choose one, book it with a driver, and see the agency's full price before you book. You pay the agency directly — RentGari records the booking and the payments, and never takes your money.

One price, on screen

The number on screen is the agency's price for your dates, with any extras and delivery in it. Each car states its kilometre allowance and the rate beyond it, so the distance is never a surprise at return.

Cars checked at every handover

A listing needs valid insurance and real photos of the car before it can go live, and comes off sale by itself if the insurance lapses. Every pick-up and return is inspected with you on a standard damage sheet, so what the car looked like is a record, not a memory.

Support that answers

A flat tyre on the M-2 at 3am is not a hypothetical. While the car is with you, your booking shows the agency's own number — they own the car and they get you moving. If they do not answer, RentGari support chases them.

Where we are

We are starting in Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad, with Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Multan and Peshawar behind them. Quetta is on the list.
