Terms of Use
In short: rent the car, drive it yourself, bring it back in the condition you got it, and don’t do anything illegal in it.
1. Who can rent
You must be at least 21 (25 for SUVs and premium models), hold a valid driving licence for at least one year, and show your original CNIC (or passport) and licence to the agency at the counter. Only drivers named on the booking may drive the vehicle.
2. Use of the vehicle
Vehicles are for private use. They may not be used for racing, off-road driving outside routes the agency has approved, driving instruction, carrying goods for hire, sub-letting, or any unlawful purpose. Smoking is not permitted.
3. Fuel, mileage and tolls
Return the vehicle with the fuel it was handed over with. Each vehicle states its kilometre allowance and the rate charged beyond it, before you book. Tolls and traffic fines incurred during your rental remain your responsibility.
4. Insurance and liability
Vehicles listed on RentGari carry comprehensive insurance arranged by the agency that owns them. Your liability for damage is limited to the excess stated in the rental agreement between you and that agency, except where damage results from a breach of these terms. RentGari does not set the excess and is not the insurer.
5. Cancellation
See the refund policy below.
6. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. Disputes fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Karachi.
Privacy Notice
In short: we collect what we need to pass your booking to an agency and keep a record of it. We don't sell it.
What we collect
- Identity checks: whether your CNIC or passport and licence matched at the agency counter — never an image, copy or number of the document
- Contact details: name, mobile number, email and delivery address
- Booking data: dates, vehicles, payments and correspondence
- Handover records: photos and notes of the car taken at pick-up and return
Why we collect it
To pass your booking to the agency, to record the checks and payments made at the counter, to settle disputes about a rental, and to meet our legal obligations.
Handover photos
Agencies photograph the car at pick-up and return, and you can add your own at the end of a booking. They are the record if the car's condition is disputed, and are shared only with the agency on that booking. RentGari does not track vehicles.
Who we share with
The agency you book with, and law-enforcement or regulatory authorities where legally required. We do not sell personal data or share it for advertising.
How identity documents are handled
Your CNIC, passport and driving licence are checked by agency staff at the counter, from the originals. RentGari records only the outcome — whether they matched, when, and at which agency — and never an image, scan, copy or number of the document. Our systems have no field to put one in.
Reviews are public
A review you leave after a rental is published on that agency’s page under your first name and last initial, alongside your rating. Anyone can report a review they believe is abusive, untrue, spam, or discloses personal details; a reported comment is hidden while we look at it and restored if the report does not hold up. The rating is never hidden.
Retention and your rights
You can delete your account at any time from the RentGari app, under Settings → Delete account. Deleting erases your name, phone number, email and verification history, and signs you out everywhere. Rentals you completed remain in the relevant agency's own business records, as the law requires of them, but with nothing that identifies you attached. Deletion cannot be undone, and signing up again starts a new account from scratch. You may also request access to or correction of your data by emailing hello@rentgari.pk.
Refund policy
In short: cancel free from your booking page until two days before the start date. Nothing is charged online, so there is nothing for RentGari to refund.
Cancelling
You can cancel a pending or confirmed booking yourself, free, until two days before its start date. The same applies to daily, weekly and monthly bookings.
Closer to the start
From two days before the start, cancel with the agency directly. Any fee is set by the agency and recorded on your booking — it is settled with them, never charged through RentGari.
If the agency cancels
If the agency declines or cancels your booking, you owe nothing. Anything you paid them in advance is theirs to return.
Money paid to the agency
Advances and balances are paid to the agency and recorded on your booking. Refunds of that money, including for an early return, are agreed with the agency.
